CAHAI 2nd Mid-Autumn Festival 2017

CAHAI Announce that "2nd Mid-Autumn Culture and Food Festival" was held on 9/9/2017 successfully at Jennings Beach, Fairfield, CT between 2 PM and 6 PM. there were shows, Moon Cake, Chinese LITTLE food, Kid activities. There are around 800 attendees come to celebrate this event. and 12 Chinese Non-Profit organization supported this event . Fairfield first Selectman Michael C. Tetreau,Trumbull First Selectman Tim Herbst, Bridgeport Mayor Joseph Peter Ganim,The President of CAST-CT, Guoyun Yu,The president of SAPA-CT, Steven Yu,The President of OCAFC, Steven Chin ,The president of CAPA-CT XouSong wang, CT state Senator Tony Hwong came on stage to congratulate to the community.

CAHAI has posted a banner on townhall green at Farifield to Celebrate the "Asian Pacific American Heritage Month".
in 1990, Predent George H.W. Bush signed a bill passed by Congress to extend Asian American Heritage week to a month; May was officially designated as Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month two years later. On May 1, 2009, President Obama issued a presidential proclamation which recalls the challeges faced by Asian Americans and pacific islanders and celebrates their great and significant contributions to our society. on April 28, 2017, President Donald J. Trump proclaims May 2017 as Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

The American Chinese Heritage Association Inc, (CAHAI.org) is excited to celebrate with the Fairfield community with the 2st Annual Mid-Autumn Culture Festival on Saturday, September 9 from 2PM – 6PM on Jennings Beach, Fairfield, CT
Did you know that the Chinese Princess Chang Er flew to the moon thousands of years before Neil Armstrong completed his famous moon landing on July 20, 1969? To this day, instead of a man in the moon, the Chinese look up at the night sky and see Princess Chang Er, or “the Goddess of the Moon” with her rabbit companion. In the lunar calendar, the 15th day of the 8th month marks the time of year when the moon is at its roundest and brightest. For thousands of years, this day has been celebrated in Chinese culture around the world as the Mid-Autumn Festival! Also known as the Moon Festival, it is a time to of celebration with friends and family over delicious food and festive activities.
CAHAI invites you and your family to join the festivities!
Try your hand at making the traditional moon cake and taste a wide variety of other delicious festival snacks. Learn more about the legend of Princess Chang Er through fun crafts and activities for all ages. Enjoy cultural performances including traditional Chinese fan dancing, martial arts demonstrations, and calligraphy. Come out and show your support as the Fairfield Chinese community headlines the festival with a talent show!
CAHAI Incorporated was formed in 2016 and recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a public charity under Section 501(c)(3) to hold the Mid-Autumn Culture Festival in order to promote an appreciation and awareness of Chinese culture.
